DAYS_

Go Fujito

Amami Oshima

It’s drizzling today in Fukuoka, the temperature has suddenly fallen, and it seems a return of cold weather. It’s a hard day for who works in fashion and tries to wear some spring wear. Me too, outside it’s 100% cotton, but actually I wear some wool underwear to endure the cold.

Below there are some pictures taken at the end of the last year, when I visited Amami Oshima Island. The island is famous not only for the silk fabric called Oshima Tsumugi, but also for Aizome, indigo dye, and Dorozome, “mud dye”. From this wonderful encounter, we are now working on a FUJITO collection using these dyeing techniques.

When the rain falls, I always remember Amami Oshima.
