DAYS_
Miyajidake Shrine
April 13, 2014 / DIARY, TRAVEL
I went to Fukutsu, a town located at one hour’s drive from Fukuoka city centre towards east. The Genkai Sea is beautiful, and when the summer comes, I always come to the nearby beaches to relax. I really like this town. Today, my plan was to buy some vegetables grown locally by an Italian farmer, but unfortunately he was in Italy for a trip and the farm was closed…
On the way back, I decided to visit the Miyajidake Shrine. I had never visited it before and it was quite impressive.
Japan’s biggest shimenawa, a rope made by rice straw that usually marks the sacred place, is just in front of you.
Looking back, the road to the shrine goes on to Genkai Sea coast.
I’ve been living in Fukuoka for almost 20 years, but there are still a lot of place I don’t know!
